Daniel

Daniel Cartwright

Chief Executive

Daniel's experience of service delivery includes working in physiotherapy within the NHS and in forensic psychiatric rehabilitation in the private sector. In his previous work for Brent Mind he played a substantial role in building partnerships with colleagues in the statutory sector to jointly deliver support to service users in supported housing.

Daniel has a special interest in raising mental health awareness and projects that support people to make healthy lifestyle choices for better wellbeing and recovery.

Vanessa Morris

Vanessa Morris

Services Manager (currently on maternity leave)

Vanessa is a Senior Manager responsible for the Horizon's Service, IAPT and Mind Map. Vanessa ensures that these services provide a high level of support to help individuals living across Brent to flourish. Vanessa has worked in and managed recovery based mental health and dual diagnosis services for 12 years.

Kerrie Green

Services Manager

Kerrie is the Senior Manager responsible for Housing Services, as well as the Older Persons Early Intervention and the Brokerage projects. Kerrie ensures the smooth running of our supported housing services in liaison with our housing and local authority partners, so that tenants are supported through the transition to independent living. Kerrie brings to the projects she delivers a passion and commitment to personalised approaches. She has worked in supported housing for over 15 years in a variety of settings, including learning disability registered care and one of London's largest homeless hostels.

Jean Byrne

Policy and Quality Development Office/ Interim Services Manager (Maternity cover)

Jean is responsible for co-ordinating the development and review of a range of policies and procedures which support the work of Brent Mind.

She is also covering parts of the Services Manager role, who is currently on maternity leave. Jean is overlooking Brent Mind's Horizon's Service as well as the Mind Map project.

Interim Services Manager (Maternity cover) 

Paul is managing the IAPT Service, which ensures that people in Brent get access to psychological therapies in order to deal with their experiences of common mental health problems such as anxiety and depression.

John Byrne

Brokerage Team Leader

John leads the teams dedicated to providing well being day services for people with mental health concerns. Current services are Healthy Minds, Growing in Mind, Tuesday Social Club and Friday Wellbeing group.

Farida deals with the marketing of Brent Mind and advises on all external communications and branding. She also manages the website and deals with publications.

Rochelle Batten

Rochelle Batten

Mind Map Co-ordinator

Rochelle is responsible for ensuring that the Mind Map project responds to the needs of Brent's youth. She oversees the Peer Educator, i-mind and My Future programmes. Rochelle has several years experience of leading volunteer programmes.

Giovanna Casatello

Giovanna Casatello

Chair

Giovanna trained as a counsellor and psychotherapist, and works with individuals who are recovering from mental health challenges, and people on the autistic spectrum. She has experience of developing and running a wide range of services, in the voluntary and private sector and in education. Giovanna has been active in facilitating service user involvement, to ensure that the point of view of service users is at the heart of research into and design and provision of psychological, psychiatric and related community services.

Vice Chair

Prakash has 15+ experience of running his own optician business, of book-keeping and of import/export trading. In recent years Prakash has actively contributed to a number of voluntary organsations in the borough of Brent, in a variety of roles.

Tony Kenber FCA FCMI

Treasurer

Tony is a chartered accountant and qualified with KPMG's London office in 1970. As a finance and commercial director, he has held board positions in the charity, business services, hospitality, television and leisure sector.

Engagements and employments include charities, the Institute of Directors, Thames Television, EMI, KPMG and a number of smaller organisations.

He is currently the finance director of one of the Great 12 Livery Companies - the Worshipful Company of Ironmongers.

Prue Canham       

Prue Canham

Trustee

Prue has 13+ years of achievement in the private sector, particularly in Telecommunications, the last ten years working in a global Fortune 500 company in series of European roles. Prue currently holds a full-time post in the Corporate Strategy Group of the Bedfordshire and Luton Fire & Rescue Service, and also works for a local mental health charity as a counsellor. In her Coaching and Training practice, Prue's ethos is to work with businesses and individuals to help them achieve better results through guided and focused goal planning and personal development, faster than they could do themselves.

 

Michael Kearney

Michael Kearney

Trustee

Michael joined the Executive Committee in January 2008. He worked for Brent Mind for 13 years, first as a volunteer, then as receptionist to the Counselling Service, administration assistant and finally as a receptionist for the whole organisation. Michael comes from County Meath in Ireland and is actively involved in a number of charities within the Irish community in London.

 

                                        

Adrian

Adrian Lee

Trustee

Adrian is a regeneration and business improvement professional with experience in public, private and voluntary sectors. He worked for over 18 years in social housing, doing estate refurbishments; supporting homeless young people; and representing communities. More recently, Adrian was housing programme director at Shoreditch Trust; ran a programme developing health centres for a PCT; and reviewed the asset management strategy for a housing association. He also worked for 7 years in telecoms as a project analyst at Cable & Wireless.

 

Daniel Levy

Daniel Levy

Trustee

Daniel has volunteered for Brent Mind since 2004, and is currently a befriender. He has done a variety of work for mental health charities, and in particular for SANE. Daniel has a law degree from Oxford University and his subsequent training as a solicitor facilitates his understanding of the legal duties and responsibilities of Trustees and Directors of Brent Mind.

 

  

Brendan Timlin

Trustee

Brendan is an architect with extensive experience in the delivery of complex building types. He is currently Project Architect for Broomfield PFI Hospital. Prior to that he was Project Team Leader for Newquay Cornwall International Airport and has delivered as Project Architect on a range of building types that required a high level of technical coordination and demanding specifications. His knowledge of the building procurement process has been gained through direct involvement on projects from Design & Build to Traditional Procurement. He has a lifelong interest in design and the built environment.
