information
Mental health problems are common, yet there is still a lot of misunderstanding and fear surrounding mental illness. 1 in 4 people in the UK are diagnosed with a mental health problem every year, with problems like depression and anxiety being the most common.
Mental health problems can affect anybody; of any age, gender, ethnicity or class. The problem with mental health is that people can feel too embarrassed or ashamed to talk about it. This can make the situation a lot worse. The quicker a person acknowledges they have a problem, the more quickly they can seek help and receive treatment for their problem.
There are treatments available for every mental health problem. The majority of people who experience a period of mental distress will make a full recovery.
