What does it look like?
- LSD or acid is often sold in tiny squares of paper (tabs) with pictures on them.
- Acid can also come as a liquid
- Sometimes acid comes in tiny pellets that look like bits of tobacco, often called microdots.
How do you take it?
- Acid is usually taken by placing on the tongue.
- When acid is in liquid form, it can be absorbed through the skin.
What does it feel like?
- When you take acid you can go on a ‘trip'. Trips can either be good or bad.
- A trip makes you hallucinate (see or hear things that aren't there)
- Colours and sounds can become more intense, and time can become distorted
What are the risks?
- Having a bad trip can be your worst nightmare come to life
- Hallucinations can make you harm yourself or someone else
- After taking acid you can have flashbacks for days and months afterwards. These can be scary and confusing.
- If you have a mental health problem acid can make it a lot worse. If there is a history of mental health problems in your family taking acid is a really bad idea.
The Law
- LSD is a Class A drug.
- If you are caught with LSD you can get 7 years in jail.
- Supplying someone else, even your friends, can get you a life sentence.
