Volunteer Awards

The Brent Community Champions Awards are organised by Brent Council and held every year to honour those who make a difference to others in the borough.

Brent Mind nominated two of their volunteers for this award to recognise their hard work and passion. We are very pleased that our volunteers were chosen and received their awards and the title of Brent Champions from the Mayor of Brent, Councillor Aslam Choudry.

Here is why they have received the recognition and awards:

MARTHA GREGG

For over five years Martha has been determined in her support for Brent Mind, volunteering for many services. She has been a regular supporter of our Drop-In weekly social club as well as supporting our Befriending Service, offering people information and guidance.

It is her smile and charm as well as her professionalism and understanding that makes Martha such an asset to Brent Mind.

CAMELIA SCIRLATCHE

Camelia came to Brent Mind on a one day a week volunteer work placement from the College of North West London in 2009. From the outset it was clear that Camelia was not just going to 'put in the hours'. She was extremely dedicated and hard working, and when the placement finished, she carried on volunteering with us. In reception her friendly approach and smile are invaluable as the welcoming face of Brent Mind.
