Brent Fun Run and Walk 2011
Over 200 runners and walkers took part in Brent's annual Fun Run and Walk at Fryent Country Park on Sunday 18th September 2011.
Brent Mind was represented by Daniel, Becky, Chris and Eddie who ran their hearts out raising money for Brent Mind. Our training sessions paid off, although it was still a big challenge.
It was a lovely sunny crisp autumn morning with a fun atmosphere and chance to meet London 2012 mascots Wenlock and Mandeville and the 100m sprinter Laura Turner.
The Worshipful the Mayor of London Borough of Brent Councillor Aslam Choudry commented "It was great to see so many people there, from all parts of the community, in support of such a fantastic event".
The Mayor is supporting Brent Mind as one of the two chosen charities foe his appeal this year so we were thrilled to have him at this event.
Residents had a choice of competing in either a 5km run or walk or the more leisurely 1.5km walk. Everyone did their best, had fun and were presented with a medal at the finish line. Well done!
