Queens Park Day

Queen's Park Day is run by the Queen's Park Area Residents' Association every year- the date this year was Sunday 11th September 2011.
It was a fantastic day! The stalls were all allocated, the events! Old favourites were back - Mr Alexander the wonderful family entertainer, Get Cycling with their bikes and bike-powered Scalectric too, the Rhythm Studio and the breathtaking, gravity defying "Fanti" the Ghanaian acrobats.
New this year were ferret racing and tennis coaching and in the arena, the Xtreme Trials motorbike display team & the Kilburn Cosmos Rugby Club.
See report on the day on BNCTV here...
Brent mind were pleased to be part of the very well attended event. Many dozens of local people stopped at our stall and asked about the services we provide. The people of Brent are aware of some of the issues faced by people with mental health concerns and were interested in knowing more. Many had experienced, either personally or with somebody close of the distress caused by mental illness and appreciated the need for Brent Mind and community support.
In the afternoon we gave parents and grandparents a break. Our trained art therapist engaged children in expressing through painting their feelings on the day.
