Brent Mind has a long history of providing support, information and sign-posting to young people in Brent.
We aim to:
- Provide positive messages to young people about coping with emotional distress, which they can share with their peers
- Tackle mental heath stigma and discrimination
- Raise recognition among the community and school services of mental health and wellbeing
- Give young people who experience emotional distress a number of reference points for support
Both universal and targeted work takes place with young people across three programme strands; a Peer Education Project, One to One drop in sessions and a Peer Mentoring Project. The second two project strands are offered in a small number of schools in Brent and the first is offered across Brent schools and other youth settings.
