Brent Mind has a long history of providing support, information and sign-posting to young people in Brent.
We aim to:
- Provide positive messages to young people about coping with emotional distress, which they can share with their peers
- Tackle mental heath stigma and discrimination
- Raise recognition among the community of mental health and well-being
- Give young people who experience emotional distress a number of reference points for support
Targeted work takes place with young people through a Peer Mentoring Project. The project supports young people vulnerable to mental health difficulties including Looked After Children, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender young people and those with mental health needs in primary care in Brent.
The aim of the programme is to equip them with illness and relapse prevention skills and reduce social isolation to improve life chances. To find out more about the project visit the the links below.
