GP-Referral
Although Brent Mind is a charity, at present the GP-Referral counselling service is chiefly funded through the NHS. This means that anyone who wishes to apply for it will need to be referred by their GP (to view the list of GPs, please click here). If you are referred to Brent Mind you will be sent information about our service together with an application form. When we receive this you will be offered a Counselling Assessment. The purpose of the counselling assessment is to enable us to find out about you and your needs and allow you to find out about us.
Following the assessment we will try and find you a convenient appointment with a suitable counsellor. When we have found you a counsellor you will receive an invitation to your first counselling appointment.
We counsel weekly and will offer you between 4 and 24 appointments depending on your need to continue. Our counselling at present is exclusively during weekdays (some occasional evening sessions).
