Brent Mind Services
Brent Mind housing team use a recovery focused approach to support our tenants.
The Brent Mind Housing Team manage 15 houses within the borough. Most of these are shared accommodation, where tenants have their own rooms and share communal areas such as the lounge, kitchen and bathrooms.
We receive all of our referrals through Start Plus at Brent Council, you can self-refer or your Care Coordinator or Social Worker can do this for you. Once we verify your referral paperwork, we arrange an assessment where we can meet with you and explain our service so you can see if we are right for you.

How We Work With You
The main aim for the Housing Team is to support our tenants to move on into independent accommodation. We use a recovery focused approach to support our tenants with all aspects of their lives to help them achieve this goal. You will be assigned a Support Worker who you will meet with for one to one key work sessions each month and who will create a Support Plan with you. Your support plan can help you to focus on different areas of your life, such as managing your mental health, work or relationships, in which you would like to make positive changes. Your support worker will then work with you to help you identify and work towards your goals such as enrolling in an educational course or meeting new people and teaching independent living skills.
Our tenants move on from our housing scheme through different routes; through the Private Rental Sector, council accommodation, or to other supported accommodation. We will work with you to identify the accommodation which is most suitable for you and your needs. We work closely with landlords and some council departments to ensure that you are given the best opportunities to find and secure the accommodation which is right for you.
When you move on to independent accommodation your support worker will provide ‘floating support’ to you for up to six months after you have moved. This means we will support you with moving and settling in to your new home. If after six months you would like further support we will help to refer you to other organisations who can provide this for you.
